Get ready Miami wine lovers. The most exciting wine event of the year takes place Thursday June 18, 7:00-10:00pm, at the Moore Building in Miami’s Design District. Miami’s top sommeliers are challenged to build four wine bars that capture the spirit of the wines of Chile in “Wine Bar War.” The Guild of Sommeliers and Wines of Chile have handpicked 4 local sommeliers to captain four teams of four sommeliers to create the wine bars featuring 32 of Chile’s best wines.
The captains leading their teams are Heath Porter of Uvaggio in Coral Gables, Brian Grandison of The Fountainbleau’s Hakassan, Michael’s Genuine Amanda Fraga and Greg Rivera of The Breakers Palm Beach. “This event challenges sommeliers like no other event. It requires deft wine curation, a successful overall concept design and an amazing guest experience,” said Master Sommelier Geoff Kruth, Chief Operating Officer of the Guild of Sommeliers.
All guests attending Wine Bar War will get to sample the wines and experience the wine bars created by the teams of sommeliers. Latin American inspired appetizers created by chef Kyle Cook will be served. The guests will also get to vote on which
Concept they think that is the best. Guest judges include Geoff Kruth from the Guild of Sommeliers, Ernesto Echeverry.
